EMS Training

By Sennett Fire Department
April 30, 2024

In addition to firefighting, the Sennett Fire Department’s 10 NYS Certified EMTs provide BLS first response emergency medical care to those who become sick or injured in the district

The Sennett Fire District is served by multiple transporting EMS agencies. The district is geographically devided and the closest staffed ambulance with the appropriate level of care (ALS or BLS) is dispatched for each call.

On Monday, April 29th, Sennett Fire personnel were joined by EMT Noah M. from SAVES Ambulance for training. The night’s drill topic was “Ambulance Familiarization”.

Members learned common equipment locations and how to operate the Stryker “Power Cot” and auto load system as well as the Stryker stair chair. This type of training will allow our members to better assist during an EMS call and deliver better care in someone’s time of need.

If you would like to help out, visit our website at sennettfire.com and click the ”Recruitment/Join Us” tabs for details.
